Hip hop is not really my specialty. But Mr. Dolan has managed to impress me long term. "Fallen House Sunken City" is far removed from what you might otherwise be heard in this genre (or what I think what you might hear in this genre in particular.). Pimp or gangster attitude are nowhere. Instead: Gloomy atmosphere, great beats from producer alias, great lyrics. Even if I could find in the second half of the year a few other really great artist in this genre (including the Dolans Partners in Rhyme Sage Francis, Fashawn or Reflection Eternal / Talib Kweli), could not the quality and especially the atmospheric density of "Fallen House Sunken City" to achieve. In one of musical surprises poor year is not sure Mr. Dolan (with Aloe Blacc), as managed in a very unusual genre for me at home, perhaps the biggest.
